Questions & Answers:
Is it necessary to fill the Tropic Heaters with water daily?
Fill the Tropic Heater with water daily. Water is constantly lost during operation because of evaporation.
Can essential oil be added to Tropic Heaters?
Do not add essential oils to the Tropic Heaters. Certain additives will damage the Tropic Pacs and components of the heating unit, including the stainless steel. Any addition of anything other than de-chlorinator to the water in the unit will void the warranty.
What steps should be taken to avoid rusting of the Tropic Heaters?
To avoid the potential for rusting of the Tropic Heaters: do not use bleach or cleaners containing a high chlorine content. Do not use paper clips, safety pins, staples, coat hangers, etc., around the unit. Do not use steel wool or carbon steel brush to clean the unit. Use only soft cloth scouring pads -no abrasive cleaners. Keep the unit full of water at all times. Clean the tank every two weeks. Hard water can eventually cause rust because of salt deposits. If that is the case, clean the unit more frequently.
How is the Tropic Heater unit cleaned?
Clean the Tropic Heater unit at least every two weeks, using a low abrasive bathroom cleaner with a soft scouring pad. Stainless steel wool may be used, but not regular carbon steel wool. Use a low or no chlorine content cleaner and make sure the residue is thoroughly rinsed away with clean water. A strong solution of vinegar and water may be used to dissolve away deposits, which then must also be completely rinsed away to avoid rust. For the exterior, use stainless steel polish and soft cloth only. Do not use abrasive cleaners and scouring pads as they can damage the finish of the unit.
How are the Tropic Pacs in the Tropic Heaters cleaned?
After each patient's treatment, return Tropic Pacs to the hot water in the Tropic Heater. To clean the packs, use only soft cloth scouring pads, no abrasive cleaners. Keep the unit full of water at all times. Clean the tank every two weeks. To store the pacs for extended periods, place wet pacs in a plastic bag and keep them in the freezer.
