Questions & Answers:

Can I wash the Debrisoft Lolly after use and reuse it?

No. The Debrisoft Lolly is for single use only. The Debrisoft Lolly must not be resterilized once the packaging has been opened or reprocessed after initial use.

Does the Debrisoft Lolly protect healthy tissue and newly formed granulation tissue?

Yes. The patented design of the Debrisoft® fibre removes only dead tissue and protects healthy tissue and newly formed granulation tissue.

Are the fibres on the Debrisoft and the Debrisoft Lolly identical?

Yes, the fibres on the Debrisoft and the Debrisoft Lolly are identical.

What purpose does the Lolly serve in the Debrisoft Lolly from L&R?

The Debrisoft Lolly is designed to debride deep, undermining, and tunneling wounds as well as cleansing hard-to-reach areas like in-between toes and skin folds.

What is the meaning of the marks on the shaft of the Debrisoft Lolly?

The marks on the Debrisoft Lolly are a visual aid to measure wounds.

Why doesn't the Debrisoft Lolly have a flexible head?

The development process showed that the Lolly shape offers sufficient flexibility and control for the debridement of a deep wound. Greater flexibility would only reduce the ability to insert the product into all areas of a deep wound in a controlled manner.

What type of sterilization is used with the Debrisoft Lolly?

The Debrisoft Lolly is sterilized with ethylene oxide (EO)

Are the fibres on the Debrisoft and the Debrisoft Lolly identical?

The fibres on the Debrisoft and the Debrisoft Lolly are identical.

What materials are in the Debrisoft Lolly?

The following materials are in the Debrisoft Lolly: Polyester, Polyacrylate (inside the head, no direct contact with the patient), Polypropylene, and Barium Sulphate.

What are the components of the Debrisoft Lolly?

The Debrisoft Lolly has three primary components: 1) The head, made of the patented Debrisoft polyester fibre. The inside of the head, like the Debrisoft itself, is coated with polyacrylate to fix the fibres securely (the polyacrylate does not come into direct contact with the patient). 2) The blue x-ray detectable thread, located at the base of the head, is made of barium sulfate and polyester. 3) The handle, which is made of break-resistant polypropylene.

Why does the Debrisoft Lolly include a blue X-ray detectable thread?

The Debrisoft Lolly has been designed for the debridement of deep wounds, including invasive surgical wounds. The detectable X-ray thread has been integrated into the product to guarantee maximum safety for the user and the patient. Even in the unlikely case of detachment of the head section, the head remains visible in the X-ray image and can be traced. However, the head's section detachment is extremely unlikely because the head is sewn to the handle at two different spots.

Can I remove or cut the Debrisoft Lolly's head to size to use it for another purpose?

Loosening or cutting the Debrisoft Lolly to size will compromise the coating's integrity on the back, resulting in fibres becoming detached from the fibrous web or harm the function of the Debrisoft Lolly.

What is the shelf life of the Debrisoft Lolly?

When stored correctly, the shelf life of the Debrisoft Lolly is three years. It should be stored in a dry place away from light.

What materials are used to make Debrisoft from L&R?

Debrisoft from L&R contains fiber composite material consisting of 100% knitted monofilament polyester fibers.
